Aside from big law, how far do careers in smaller firms extend in NYC? How competitive are these jobs? The second question is relevant from the standpoint of someone who probably won't be a graduate of T14s.
I don't have the scores to get into Columbia or NYU, maybe somewhere like Brooklyn Law School. Even if I went to top schools, taking on so much debt would just be too pressuring. For me, a reasonably adequate life in an urban city, particularly NYC, is the primary motivation of going to law school, so I would really appreciate it if anyone expounds on job prospects in NYC.
