Anyone know anything or anybody who has gone thru this program.  I understand that you can earn your LLB thru distance learning.  Is it possible to to maybe go to an ABA school for your LLM after completion to be able to practice law in the states?  New york accepts LLB degrees from University of London and will allow you to sit for the bar if you then earn atleast 20 credits towards an ABA degree such as an LLM, but does the external program count.  Any other states accept the LLB from England thru this option?

Some of the information on the second of these links may be a bit outdated, because I think  some of the state bars may be trying to close some of the loopholes.  But read the first of these links and see if you agree with my conclusion that NY *would* accept an INTERNAL programme LLB from London, but not the EXTERNAL programme.  My major question about the information on the second link is North Carolina, which I am not sure about as far as whether they will now accept an external LLB from London combined with an ABA LLM.  I think the best bet would be to write the state bar for whatever state you may be interested in, and ask them.  (See also my update below this text.)

My understanding is that the London External LLB is sufficient qualification in the UK to be allowed to practice subject to the requirements set forth here:

Becoming an English solicitor via distance learning may be a better option for some. Certainly the LLB is more prestigious than a California distance learning degree:
