I have a hard time belieiving NALP

The NALP site shows our school with roughly the following breakdown:

top 10% > 3.59
top 25% > 3.42
top 33% > 3.36
top 50% > 3.23
top 75% > 3.02

It seems like it is such a tiny bell curve. 

Granted these are graduating GPAs, do you think 1L GPA breakdowns would be any different?

It's possible. Some schools have a higher 2L/3L curve and/or don't curve smaller seminar classes, so people are able to bring their grades up after 1L.

I can't say for sure, but I know my school has similar breakdowns:
Top 10%:     3.548
Top 25%:    3.385
Top 33%:    3.185
Top 50%:    3.129
Top 75%:    2.937

and last year the top 7% (who graded on to law review) was around 3.5, so there is some degree  of grade inflation, but only some.

Where do you find this information on the NALP site?

for my school NALP was way off. it said with my gpa i would be just outside the top 33 percent. In actuality i was just in the top 20 percent.

Wow, Our NALP percentages are still on the old grading scale - very unhelpful. Thanks anyways though!

It's off at my school too. By over a point of GPA.

I think its because the scale that they list is for the graduating 3rd year class, and there's bound to be differences because of class size and individuals between the different classes.
