Pretty sure you can still pay tuition with a credit card - I've done it in the past.

Who the hell carries AMEX anymore?  Though i agree, it is weird that they don't accept Visa.

Amex Black is probably the most prestigious card you can carry.

Sure, but how many people actually have one?  The # of places that accept AMEX have dropped considerably in the last decade and Discover has been on the opposite path, gaining acceptability almost everywhere.  In my opinion from what I've seen, DISC has taken over AMEX's spot as the 3rd place card.

Not a chance. Amex OWNS the high end customer market. My roommate worked for Chase and he said that other companies pine for Amex's clients.

Yeah, the AmEx Centurion ("Black" card) has been losing some of it's "prestige" as of late.  They have been giving them to more and more people, and the requirements for owning one are not nearly as exclusive as they once were.

First off, I would like everyone to take a moment to realize that getting any useful information out of our financial aid office is almost completely impossible.  I'm convinced all the women in that office are trying to be insane, evasive, and unhelpful.

You are 100% correct. I just called to see if my EFT form had been received and first was told that an EFT form didn't exist, then that I wasn't a student (she typed my SSN incorrectly when searching). What should have taken no more than 2 minutes was a 10 minute phone call.

I am hoping/praying that perhaps the people I have spoken to have been temps/summer office help. If not, I fear for my sanity when dealing with the office in the future.

Can you even apply?  I thought Black was invitation only - the Skull and Bones of the credit card crowd.
