My mentor just called.  I should have asked him whether the SBA books are actually usable.  I am irrational about other people's highlighting.

You're not the only one. I only bought used books once in Undergrad and the highlighting annoyed me so much I ended up returning them after the first day and getting new ones.

I plan to do some comparison shopping. I don't want to buy from the University bookstore because they are usually over priced although that would probably be the easiest method. But, if you have a Barnes & Noble membership card (I think it's a $20 fee to sign up?) you frequently get big discounts on all sorts of books so that could be a good way to go. Also, if you have an Amazon.Com credit card you get discounts and they give you gift certificates at the end of the month based on how much you spent (not just at Amazon) so you could use the card for every day expenses, build up a lot of gift certificates and then just pay your card balance at the end of the month while still ending up with a large discount on your books.
