Which primer to get for Crim Law?

Maybe I had an old edition, but the Crim E&E was insulting.  The questions were poorly posed.  There were 100s of typos.  The topics weren't clearly explained, IMO.  It was tbe only E&E I didn't like.

I agree with using Understanding Criminal Law. I have also used Understanding Contracts (sorry, I don't remember the author or ed) and it made my entire contracts experience more bearable. I and several of my classmates used the Black Letter Law Outline for Criminal Law. I have also purchased Understanding Constitutional Law and Understanding Evidence, but they haven't arrived yet.
