NWCU Questions...
« on: July 08, 2006, 12:30:03 AM »
Hi,
1) Do we need any special types of software installed on the computer?

2) Do we need to immediately purchase all the books/materials listed for the first year?  If not, what would you suggest?

3) From the time we put in our application, hear back from them, then register, how long does this process take & till we start the course?

Thanks,  Barbara

Not sure if you still need this info since thepoast was on the 8th, but here is what I know:

1. No software required- you access the school through a Blackboard site. The school will send you the info to log in.

2. I would purchase the books, but look for them on amazon or somewhere cheaper than where they suggest.

3. Not too long..maybe a couple of weeks.

Let me know if I can help in any other way!

1) Some students complained they weren't able to download Real Player for the lectures, which is free.  The Java for the Chats is also free.  (Never heard any complaints about that.)

2) Go with Amazon and get Contracts first since it is the hardest.

3) I seem to recall about a 2-3 week turnaround.

Good luck!

How do you arrange your final exams?  Who proctors the exam?  What kind of a job do you expect once you graduate?
