I'm already drooling over some of the elective courses... Sokolow's Business Associations class looks right up my alley.

I just heard that you don't necessarily get your first choice in elective classes from a 2L.

That sucks donkey balls...

I think you get to choose your elective, but you don't get to choose it from all of the courses that are being offered. That is, I believe there are a smaller handful of courses that are available as options for the 1L elective -- and the Business Associations course may not be one of them.

For my part, I'll probably take Leiter's jurisprudence course in the spring.

Because I want to take a course in something that really interests me during 1L (since the rest of it is required and there's no choice involved), and because there's the outside chance that Leiter could be leaving, and I'd like to take a class from him before he goes -- if he goes.

(I don't want to start any rumors that he's leaving -- I think the chances are pretty slim, maybe next to nil -- but he's visiting Chicago this fall, and those visits often lead to job offers, so there would be some chance that Leiter would get an offer, followed by some chance that he might take it.)

Tralala spent some time figuring out the schedule, and here's what she came up with:

-The section that has con law small section will also have
Torts w/ Anderson
and the as yet unscheduled Civ Pro w/Silver

-The section that has contracts in small sections will also have
Con Law w/ Berman
And either: Prop w/ Smith, CivPro w/Mullenix, or Crim w/ Klein.

-The section that has Propery in small sections will have
Contracts w/ Rau
Either Civ Pro w/ Mullenix or Crim w/Klein

-The section that has Torts in small sections will have
Con Law w/ Powers
Either Prop w/ Smith or Civ Pro w/ Mullenix

And of course, everyone will also have the 1-unit LR&W.

Yeah, they gave us too little information to fully solve the puzzle.  They need to throw in some added clues like, "If a student has a class on Monday morning, they will not take a class from Rau."

interesting.  It is the course survey results from the classes.  Most of the teachers end up with decent results.  Only one person concerned me, and I can't remember his (or her) name.  He got fairly low rankings on the question about students being able to speak their own opinions in class.

8:30 classes and Friday classes are the bane of my existence.  Just throwin' that out there.

I don't mind Friday classes.  Of course, when I scheduled undergrad classes I'd do MWF classes so I had TTH off nearly every semester.

I am unsure about 8:30 ones this time around.  I used to avoid them, but if I stick to my plan of getting to school at 7, that'd give me just enough time to get in a workout or study session before classes start.  If I don't get a class starting till 10AM is when I'll be wondering how to fill my mornings without resorting to computer games.

I'd be happiest if I could get all my classes done before noon.  Too bad there's not a way to get all the morning people in one section.

Oh, man, don't start with the senioritis schedule stories.  I'll feel compelled to lean on my cane, wag my finger at you and recite war stories to keep the balance.  Like the time I worked 23 fourteen-to-fifteen-hour days in a row.  First, I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.  Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em.  "Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say.  Now where was I?

 


My final semester schedule was the worst since my first semester (in which I had Calculus at 8:30 in the morning )
