I just dropped of my letter of intent to the nice young woman in Admissions. She said 'congratulations!'. (Margee, period outside the quotation mark, right?)
It's real.

Actually, inside. Question marks and semicolons sometimes go outside, but periods and commas are always inside. But now that I'm looking again, no period is necessary since there's an exclamation point inside. Also, it's a double quote, "like this." A single quote is only used inside a double. She said, "he says 'happy.'"
And thanks for giving me an oppotunity to be a complete dork and show everyone how utterly ridiculous I am. It made me very very happy

Also, YAY for the permanence of turning in your letter of intent!
