Yeah, please elaborate on "screwed."  Are you working for them?

Doesn't sound like they screwed anyone.  Screwed is when they close the offices and leave the summers with NO jobs.  Sounds instead like they had a business decision to make, and they made it.  And that they took care of their summers as best they could by accomodating them in other offices.  Doesn't mean it doesn't suck, cause it does, but it's better than not being asked to come to another office.  (This all assumes of course that they didn't know full well that these offices were closing before they hired- I do suppose that would be a possibility).

I do wonder if the people in charge of hiring knew.  Seems just like a big law firm to undercut their own recruiting committee as well as anyone else.  I'd be pretty annoyed, personally, if I were an associate assigned to interview candidates or take them out to lunch and the higher ups knew they might not be necessary, but I didn't.
