Oh.  And a fire drill just started.   :P
You say that like it's a bad thing. I love diversions.

I've had the tendonitis thing before, only it was the other hand, and on the thumb instead, else I would have put on the old brace already.  I've had this threatening to appear for about 3 weeks now.  I'd been trying not to use the hand as much, but something just pushed it over the edge yesterday.

Last time I spent a couple of months in the brace before it recovered sufficiently.  That time hurt much worse than this one, though.  At least it taught me that the only thing the doctor will do is put me in a brace and give me anti-inflammatories.  So I'll be in a brace for a while, and taking some ibuprofin or other pain reliever to relieve the inflammation.

Just think, in another year I'll be able to lawyer myself too.  ;)

It'd be okay if I could have left the building like everyone else to get away from the noise, but not 5 seconds after I posted that message, my boss calls and wants to chat it up.

"Sir, I'm on fire."

"What?  I can't hear you."

"Sir, the building is going down in flames.  I've got to get out."

"Well, if it was that big of a deal, you'd have just hung up the phone and run out."

"Yes sir, but then you would've fired me."

"Absolutely.  But I guess you have to be man enough to decide which kind of fire you're more afraid of."

[this is typical of the dripping sarcasm, puns, and other drudging humor at our firm]

We would've all evacuated the building even for just a drill here at our work.  Maybe it is because we have manufacturing facilities on-site, but I think they said the company can be fined and forced to have follow-up drills if we don't actually evacuate and do it fast enough.

I'm checking in, but after this I'm heading out, packing up, and then getting the hell out of dodge. Tubing, here I come!

Yeah, I fought my way past the log-in issues yet again.  I expect posting will continue to be light till the webmaster fixes whatever problems they have.  :(  That and with the long weekend, we may have to entertain ourselves in other ways till Wednesday comes along.

I had no problems logging in today over here, so the problem may indeed be resolved.

I finally managed to drag myself into the office, but I think that I am only going to keep my seat warm here for about another 90 minutes or so.

Nope, I get to stay home today.  We get two Holidays for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and July 4th every year.  Looks like things will continue being dead for a couple more days.  I'm off to waste time playing computer games.
