Graduate PLUS Loans
« on: May 16, 2006, 02:57:55 PM »
Has anyone heard how easy it is to get a Graduate PLUS Loan?  Supposedly, the requirements for creditworthiness are low.

My law school told me about it.  I did a Parent PLUS loan during undergrad- but with this one you don't have to have your parent's sign.  The screening is much more lenient.

I applied for a Law loan through Access and I was going to need a cosigner, but when I applied for a Graduate PLUS loan with them last week I was approved and I have already recieved the promissary note in the mail today.

My law school said they wouldn't start offering it until the spring- that is why I went with another lender.  You should check with your lawschool first but if not Access Group, Citibank, Nellie Mae, KeyBank, Sallie Mae, and Graduate Leverage offer it.  HOwever, Access was the only one doing PLUS loan applications at this time- the others said they would start later this spring (I didn't try Graduate Leverage).
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
