1L Job Options - Please Give Me Your Opinions

Need opinions on what to do this summer (T2 school, all local jobs).

Money isn't a concern, although it is obviously very nice. My main concern is what will look for OCI next Fall.

1. Judicial Externship - School says anyone who wants one can have one, but you don't get to pick which court. Unpaid, you pay regular tuition, and get credit.

2. Personal Injury Firm - Paid clerk at a very successful 10 lawyer firm.

3. General Counsel's Office - Unpaid clerk in the GC's office of a 10,000 employee, publicly traded company.

4. Construction Defect Firm [CD defense] - Paid clerk at a 3 lawyer branch of a 75 lawyer firm.

Are the externships with state or federal court?

It could be anything. You might get US Attorney's Office, State Supreme, or local family court. Like I said, you don't get to choose.

if you can just do summer school and get out 1/2 a year early that would be ideal since job prospects are better in January

Kill 2 birds with one stone and save some money on tuition!
