Law School Discussion

Any Nurses Here?

Any Nurses Here?

Hi I'm new to the board.  I'm a Registered Nurse considering law school.

Are there any nurses here?  Does anyone know any nurses in law school?  Was wondering how the experience is.

I've worked as a Nurse/Paralegal/Consultant but I would make more money and get more respect as an attorney.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Z.

Plus you don't have to worry about malpractice insurance as much.  :D

I think your unique background is something to be stressed in applications.  Health-related law is an increasingly lucrative field.  Plus, I bet you'd make one mean ambulance chaser.  :D

Zoe,

Unfortunately, it seems that most who subscribe to this board are not interested in practicing any type of public interest or social service law. Personal injury and physician malpractice are lucrative fields- you could also be in-house counsel for a pharmaceutical firm. There is also plenty to be done in patient advocacy and public health (on a nationwide and regional/local level). It is a very interesting area of law that has become more important with the rise in the median age of American patients.

Good luck!
