Then again, I'm kinda in the camp of, if you stand out as a great student and mover & shaker - you're gonna play with the big boys no matter what... if, of course, that's what you want.  I don't plan on working for a big firm (intrigued by Public Interest, actually) - but I think as long as I'm in a T2 school or higher, I'll be able to wiggle my way in to something good.  I hope.

Sure, it's possible.  But I think your chances of moving and shaking increase appreciably as you attend schools higher up on rankings.
