How big is the alumni factor?
« on: March 23, 2006, 07:44:18 AM »
Does anyone know how big the alumni factor is in an admissions desicion?  Specifically I'm applying to Marquette, Both parents, two siblings, two uncles and two aunts attended undergrad.  In addition an uncle attended their law school.  I wonder if that even matters.  Does anyone have any idea?

I think if you have the numbers for Marquette and they're choosing between you and another applicant with the same numbers then having alumni to the law school helps ( I don't think undergrad helps at all, but I coudl be wrong).  from what i understand, l.s. alumni gives you a bit of an extra boost, but you won't get you in a certain law school just on alumni. good luck
I love my philly phanatic :)

Unless they donate huge amounts of money, it will only help you slightly as biolawgirl explained.
