hi.  it looks like i should be joining you in the fall.  just wanted to introduce myself and ask if any of you would be so kind as to fill me in on toledo.  how are you enjoying law school so far?  have classes been difficult?  can you tell me about the campus?  law school?  library?  summer job searches?  do you need a car, living in toledo?  how far is too far to live from campus.  is it better to rent a house over an apt?  thanx.

also i have seen on irlg's site that toledo boasts one of the higher employment at graduation.  has this translated into 1l and 2L summer opps?  can you get a midlevel firm job from toledo?  can you realistically make 60k+ as a starting salary?

Welcome. I live close to campus but I still drive because I have classes at night. Also, because I carry a lot of books and my computer. Around town you do need a car if you want to do anything.  Check out Kenwood Gardens -- plain but cheap apartments close to the school.

i have a question for you.  do you know of anyone who successfully got in-state tuition for their 2L year?  i'm from out of state but would really like to get in-state for 2L and 3L.  that would make toledo a real bargain.

I think a couple of people I know did. I did not even apply for it because I had a sister who helped with my rent. And you have to be totally independent for the first year.

it's been awhile since this thread/school specific board has seen any action.  so, how did the semester go for you guys?  was everyone able to secure meaningful summer employment?  what kind of work are you doing?  anyone working outside of the toledo/detroit area?
