Tricky Transcript question...

Quick question. If you want to transfer to a different school following your 1st year of law school, then when should you apply to other schools? I am asking because how would the other schools see much of your transcript? It seems at most they'd only see your first semester. Is this usually the case?

You'd be better off looking at the deadline dates for transfer applicants at schools you're interested in.

The process for transfer students is not rolling. Even if you file well in advance your application will sit there until all transfer applications will be in; then, by late July they decide whom to accept. Basically, they want to see what grades you've gotten at your former school. Oh, one more thing, don't let 'em shaft you when it comes to the credit hours that'll transfer - your new school, for obvious reasons, will do whatever it takes to transfer as little as possible credits. for obvious reasons. Stick to your guns and tell them you'll go elsewhere if they don't give you the full 30 credit hours you're entitled to!
