Truly assess whether or not the legal field is right for you.  If you grimmace at the yelling and posturing in the boardroom of the apprentice it'll probably drive you nuts.  In that case, go do something else.

Your first year will fly by really fast, make sure you take the time to enjoy it.  It's a lot of fun, but it goes by in the blink of an eye.

Be SURE you are committed to this for the long haul, especially if you're giving up an established career to go to law school.

I'll repeat:  make sure you are interested.  This is a long haul and you will hate it unless you actually find interest in the law and underlying policy.  Do you like formulating arguments?  Are you interested in philosophy?  Economics?  If so, you will likely love LS

Also, make sure you really like the area where you are going to school.  It will make a big difference in your emotional health.

1. sleep as much as you can now
2. Spend time with your family and friends
3. Do something you love everyday until orientation
4. read a book you actually want to read.
5. Be prepared to dedicate your life to this you have to make sacrifices so make sure everyone understands that you are in lawschool.
6. enjoy it dont fear it.
7. study efficently not crazy there is a difference in understanding teh law and being able to apply it.
8. do hypos do hypos do hypos you have to know how to write the exam or all the studying in the world wont get you a C+.

Forget the books on the weekends and go out partying. It'll keep you sane.

This is actually pretty good advice, I think if you apply yourself you will be able to party with your classmates and still get the work done.  Just don't party to the exclusion of getting what you need done.
