You can't rate people's comments to my knowledge.  Does it have to do with how many responses you get to your posts?

That's exactly what it is. Just b/c you say something non-PC and someone doesn't agree, they can knock you for it. If you have high self-esteem, then you won't care. In fact, I think it's those that "rate" ppl that have self-esteem issues. They're not adult enough to post a comment to a post that they take issue w/. Instead, they cowardly mark someone as negative w/o showing their face and giving any reason why.

IOW, I wouldn't buy too much into it.

Yeah, its definitely pretty unimportant. Also, I feel like when someone is pissed at you, they'l defame you, but when they agree with you, they won't commend you. So if you hate the system, just spread more love.

Plus, 95% of the people on here with more than 1 post have negative reputations anyway.

i'd just like to say that I commended everyone on this thread - so our "reputations" aren't as awful as they were.

It was just an experiment by Andrew to see if it would work and if it did, he was going to incorporate it to the pre-law side. Obviously, it didn't work out as planned.
