Lexis Outlines vs. Emanuel’s
« on: August 25, 2005, 08:43:15 PM »
Has anyone compared the two?

I just downloaded the Lexis Outline and it seems pretty substantial.

If anyone recommends Emanuel’s over it please let me know why.

Thanks

I have not seen the Lexis Outline.  Where is it found?
Emanuel's is especially good for Con Law, and good for Civ Pro and Property.

wow, thanks.  I didn't even know this was there.  I hadn't gone to the /lawschool part.  I've earned some nice Ultimate Rewards points.

Looking at the outlines in the classes where I did the best, I suggest that they are informative, but they're not necessarily the best way to learn the topics for the purposes of your law school exam.  Emanuel's is better, if you must limit yourself to one or the other.  But it can't hurt to look at those outlines.

I am hoping for some answers on this as well, free outlines are a good thing...  I have already decided to use the Lexis ones.  They are available as Word files. This means I can cut them up and change them however I want.  This will be great at the end of the semester if I want to take parts from the Lexis outlines and add them to my own.  I suppose one could go further and utilize them to create your own outline, but I am starting from scratch on that...

liberty.

from what i've seen i think its most likely a good idea to spend the 30 bucks and get emanuals.

The lexis outlines are extremely basic.  Keep in mind however that you MUST skew your outline to what your professor wants i.e, his/her definitions of black letter law.
