Then, read 28 U.S.C. § 1332 (in Supplement) and U.S. Constitution art. III § 2 (also in Supplement). Then, read Casebook pp. 12-16, through end of § 1.03. Finally, read the note on the Federal Rules at the bottom of page 16.

ASSIGNMENT FOR SECOND MEETING:
Read Federal Rule of Civil Procedure ("FRCP") 8(a), (e) (in Supplement); then read Casebook pp. 16-26, through end of § 1.04 (but omit Thomas v. Torres on p. 18). Next, read FRCP 26(b)(1)-(2) (Supplement); then read Casebook § 1.06 (Discovery) through notes and questions on 29-30 (but omit the second Kerr opinion on p. 29). Finally, read Rule 56(c) (Supplement) and § 1.07 of the Casebook (pp. 30-32).

I saw that. When are you getting your books?

I was originally planning to get them at orientation, but am going to get them sometime this week (hopefully tomorrow)instead.  I may be paranoid, but I don't want to wait until the 16th and then try to cram it all in that weekend.  I'll need time to read, re-read, and let it soak in.

I think I am going to start next week and get them then. I went to the Law Center Book Store today, and did not find any books in stock yet, however.
