Trip to Tampa
« on: May 31, 2005, 10:53:40 PM »
I am moving all of my stuff to St.Pete the week of June 20th.  If anyone else is in the area and wants to grab a beer, I am sure I will get bored of unpacking.  Lol...or if anyone wants to help move a few pieces of furniture, I will definately reward the help with some Yuengling Black and Tan.

For all you Tampa natives, where are some cool places to go while I am scoping out the area?  I figure I will spend half the day unpacking and the rest out lying on the beach or checking out the sights.

You know there's a Yuengling brewery in Tampa so there's no problem finding that B&T.

Hmm, places to see:

If you're a sports nut like me:
-Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater, home of the Threshers and Phillies spring training)
-Legends Field in Tampa (home of the Tampa Yankees and Yankees spring training)
-Knology Park (home of the Dunedin Blue Jays and Blue Jays spring training)
-Raymond James Stadium (home of the B-U-C-S, Bucs, Bucs, Bucs!)
-The Trop (home of the D-Rays)

Fun/beach stuff
-Pier 60/Clearwater Marina/Clearwater Beach
-John's Pass/Treasure Island (definitely eat at Crabby Bill's in Madeira Beach)
-Sand Key
-Honeymoon Island
-Frenchy's Rockaway Grill (you MUST eat here too)
-Palm Pavilion

Bars, bars, and more bars
-Ybor City (ask anyone down there, they'll know how to get there)
-Channelside District
-Hyde Park
-Downtown St. Pete

Artsy/interesting stuff:
-Plant Museum at The University of Tampa
-TB Performing Arts Center
-Dali museum in St. Pete
-Sunshine Skyway bridge and fishing pier

I'm sure I'll think of more.  I lived down there for 7 years, and I love it.  I can't wait to go back next year.
