I'm thinking of getting this book but wanted to hear what people thought about it.

I have it; I couldn't recommend it more. Atticus Falcon recommends it over the Aspen primer, but I haven't read that one yet (my friend has it).

Great, thanks.

Silly question but what is the Aspen primer?

The Aspen primers are any of the Examples and Explanations series books.  They are all published by Aspen Publishing.
