I mean sure there are good guys out there that are lawyers, but after seeing some of the posts on this thing from guys who say how they don't date other girls in law school because those girls think that being smart and accomplished somehow compensates for them not be hot. 

Might I surmise that 'hot' means tanned and scantily dressed?

You wan't to know what it's like to date/marry a lawyer.  I once had a law professor who told us (men) that if we propose with a ring, propose first, and if the person says yes, then give them the ring, so that way the ring is not a gift but part of a contract.  If you get divorced then the contract is broken and you get the ring back!  Now, doesn't marrying a lawyer sound that much better!

I worked at a family law office where the 2 divorce attorneys who had each been divorced a few times themselves, were dating.  It was VERY ugly.  I believe they are still dating, but have not been married because they are fighting about a pre-nup.  Everything was calculated to be kept as separate property, it was very sad.

Well, almost. The presentation of the ring upon the promise to marry is for the engagement period. Once the wedding has taken place, that contract is fulfilled. The marriage is a different contract.

soon to be 1L, married to a lawyer, we both knew we were going to be lawyers out of college. i worked while she went through, now she is going to do the same (hopefully)
but we have lots to discuss, and we know two other happy couples that are the same as us. married lawyers/law students. if you can make it through law school married, your marriage can make it through anything.
