I am a pre 1L who is interested in mediation / arbitration.  Could you 1L's share some info on how to pursue a career in this?

Rick...look for a school that offers a certificate program in Alternative Dispute Resolution.  I go to Willamette, and they happen to have one of the top programs in the country.  In fact, this semester I am taking Introduction to ADR.

That would be the first step.

Thanks alot.  Unfortunately, I have stopped applying.  But thanks for the info.  I am going to see if any of my schools have ADR programs.

Schools without programs may have clubs which participate in ADR competitions and guide people to certification programs offered locally.  We have programs to be certified through the county for example.
