I can't give you a definitive answer as to Georgia, but in Arizona where the requirement to sit the bar is for a law degree from an ABA accredited law school, the answer is yes. My wife had a UK law degree, and then studied for an LLM for that very reason. In the end, the law school gave her a year's credit for her UK degree, and credited the work she did towards her LLM as another year, so she was able to get a JD with just one more year of study (she was not allowed to get the LLM as well though!) She figured this was a better option, as competing against JDs with just an LLM can be a tough proposition.
