Financial aid ?s!
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:50:02 PM »
1) What did your school offer you in terms of loans? I assume most everyone gets the $18,500 from the government, but what other loans did your school offer you? (not scholarships)

2) Did you borrow from anyone else (private, etc)?

3) How is the money given to you? Is it simply placed in your checking account or whatever?

$18,500 in government loans and the rest in scholarships or commercial loans.  I don't know about other schools, but my school doesn't offer loans to students directly.  You get your own commercial loans (through one of the schools recommended lenders) and the school gets the money during the summer.  Then the school direct deposits the non-tuition money to your bank account at the beginning of the semester.  My loans are through www.northstar.org, the T.H.E. loan.
