What do they look at: Spring or Fall?

When applying to transfer do most schools look at your mid-year grades or wait until the year is done? Or does it differ from school to school?

I know University of Miami looks at your law school transcript after one academic year of classes.  This is why they can wait and make the transfer deadline around July.  They are waiting for you to complete an academic year of law school.  I have looked into this too.

This is also true for the CA schools I looked into.  They want one years worth of grades before you can apply for transfer.  And many want a "letter of good standing" which my school will not give until 1 year, since midterm grades doesn't necesarily mean you will still get a passing grade at the end of the year.
