Contracts

OK, Prof. Lewis says Pevar is very important.  So I go to Westlaw to see the full opinion.  I can't remember the citation, so I search on Pevar.

Leonard Pevar shows up in a number of cases.  This guy couldn't get along with anyone.

I think I hate casebooks.  I'm working on a case and there isn't even enough information to tell you who sued whom.

Promissory estoppel cases.

Prof doesn't agree with the courts and they all look the same to me.  Am I the only one who feels this way?

So we're reading some older English cases to understand consideration.

Why can't these guys write in English so a person can understand?

What does 'rule discharged' mean?

What did somebody spike his coke?  Or did he finally find a cell phone that works?

Last week he almost smiled.

Almost doesn't count!  If you look at his picture on some of the old Photo collages,  He is hardly recognizable!  Don't get me wrong, I do respect his knowledge and he is the last person I would want to be accross the table from in negotiations or facing in court.

A number of people don't like his abruptness.  I see it as a manifestation of his seriousness about the law and teaching it.  He has little time for irrelevant, out-in-left-field questions and doesn't want to spend a lot of time on what-ifs.

I like him and the way he teaches.
