LEEWS
« on: September 27, 2004, 03:19:55 PM »
Is anyone using this now?  Is this just for exam prep or general studying?

Are you happy with it?  I'm thinking of waiting to buy the CD version in October, which means I'll be paying full price.  Is it worth $145?

I just finished listening to the LEEWS tapes. I will say that the tapes thoroughly explain the process of taking exams. I found the material helpful. Of course, I won't know how effective they are until after exams are over. Overall, I enjoyed listening to the tapes. I don't regret my purchase.

A 2L let me borrow their LEEWS "primer".  I skimmed through it...looks like it provides some good techniques.  I will probably purchase the tapes.

Is LEEWS aimed at taking exams exclusively?

Not exclusivley, but that is the main aim of it - the say they will raise your grade by a letter point -  they mostly teach essay exam skills.

How useful is that at a school like NSL?

I have found it useful.  A good portion of your exams are discussion.  I beleive only Davidson gives 100% multi-state.  I have listened to the tapes a couple of times.  I am sure that I would have gained more from the program if I had actually went through the steps as laid out.  Leews lays out a nice "mechanical" approach to beating the panic that often sets in at exam time.

I was going to get the CD version for 145.00.  Is it worth 145?

I don't know.  It depends on if you have enough time to devote to it.  I didn't pay $145 for the copy I listened to.

I commute 18 hours a week.  I thought it would be a good use of that time to listen to the CDs.
