Legal Writing Memorandum Assignment

Do we have a Bluebook or know where to find one? 
Maybe our Vandy 1L can help me out. I know I used one when I was a janitor....
Seriously though, have you read about the bonus for using the Bluebook?
Interestingly, I Googled "legal memorandum example" and got quite a few results.
None of them were INCORRECT like the example she covered in class. What was up with that?
We learn by being presented with the WRONG way to do something.
GRRRR my claws are out!

I just glanced at the assignment.  It looks like she is simply overwhelmed by the requirements of the class..

Well, I was kind of banking on a good grade in this class to lift Torts and Contracts in my GPA.
 Surely the analysis and instruction could be more straightforward. This is pretty straightforward stuff and it seems she just complicates it.
Guess this may be the toughest class grade-wise. At least in the other classes we know exactly and succinctly what is expected of us.

we are having the same problem on our class - wed. nights.  she only showed us what NOT to do and when we asked her so show us an example of what TO do she told us no, she had other stuff to cover.  there seems to be a good example on appendix c and even the one on pg 84 - 85.  you are right - it appears a little simpler than she explained.  i guess this isn't going to be the cream puff class i thought it was going to be.

I'm beginning to think this is one of those courses where you have to manage the learning in spite of the teacher.  I hate those.

Yep, I agree. But it seems there is one every year.....We just need to talk it out amongst ourselves and try not to let her confuse.
I, for one, am thrilled she will not be there tonight!

Not to be mean about it, but...

I was driving to work and put in the CD with last week's lecture.  She was talking about why we should be good writers.

OK, I get it.  I agree.  We should be good writers.  Why are we still talking about why we should be good writers?

At least in the other classes we know exactly and succinctly what is expected of us.

At least she did give us an assigment sheet with clearly spelled out grading criteria.  Take a look at it.  It's the sheet that spells out clearly what you need to have for a "A" paper, a "B" paper, and so on down the line. 

I would have loved to have clear direction like that in my undergrad, where I had some professors who graded writing on a simple scale:  If you were having your paper graded in class (while you were sitting right there watching), you got an "A" or a "B".  If you handed a paper in and were not there to watch the grading, you got a "D" or an "F".  Lovely.  I had several like that.  Had to drop and re-take the classes in question with a more reasonable professor.

Yes, but I have encountered teachers like her before and sometimes that specificity means STRICT grading!
