Although after reading these death penalty cases I don't think I have the stomach to be a public defender.

I emailed the Access to Justice Coordinator for TBA and got a reply today.  She sent me some documents including a work plan and the more I read the more I am interested.  It may be possible for me to work for/with the committee as a student and I really like the idea. 

This kind of project is the reason I have been drawn to the law over these many decades.

My problem now is to find a way to make a living doing this.  There is an attorney in Murfreesboro that managed it and this lady is going to put me in touch with him.  This could work out.  I'm excited, but don't tell anyone.

I would be excited too! Keep us posted. I am thinking about prosecution after reading the Crimes for tomorrow!

Today is a rerun of last Thursday.  Should I go to class unprepared or should I skip the class? 

I vote go unprepared.  I missed some last week, and I vowed not to do that again.  Better to be embarassed than to miss out on a class before a quiz again.

Nope, you were thoroughly, conscientiously and consistently prepared. It will pay off in the (very) short run since the final is in 3 weeks.
Why was our classmate who sits near you picking on me last night? (IN addition to J Smith I might add) For some reason people like getting my goat. I used to think it was because I was so damn earnest, but I'm not earnest any more!

She is absolutely adorable.  My daughter used to be that little.  That was 10 years ago!

You are right though.  It will be another 6-7 years and we will be looking at and talking about colleges.  Time flies.

Jeff, I am sorry to hear about your dog. 

I've put down a few "family members" myself and it never gets easier.  I'll keep you and your dog in my thoughts.  The only advice, and you have already heard it I'm sure, is to look at the quality of life your dog has.  I am sure you give her a good home but how does she feel?  If she could talk what would she tell you about how she feels? 

Isn't it a shame how we are so humane to our pets than we are to people?!?!
