   Does anyone know how likely USD is to give a deferment?  If I attend this fall as planned it is very likely that I will not be able to finish my PhD...but I may risk it if I have to.  Thanks!   :-\

I would think USD would be very willing to defer admission to a candidate so that they can satisfactorily complete their Ph.D. first.  I'm just an admitted student like you, but it feels right to me.

They may defer admission but maybe not any scholarship offered -- depends on your situation though.  I agree that completing a PhD makes you even more attractive to USD.
