Payback of Student Loans
« on: June 14, 2004, 09:54:15 AM »
Student Loans are not good..we all know this when we reach the point of being concerned about paying them back.  With this in mind I am looking for any insight into paying these puppies back.  Does anyone know if law firms/companies/the government will help to pay back these loans.  I know with Doctors and Dentists they can go to work in underpriviledged areas and as long as they do that they can get their loans paid back.  Does anyone know of any programs like this?

Some schools (such as NYU, where i'm headed) have specific loan forgiveness programs for those who take low-salary public service jobs once they graduate.  Other than that, your only real 'repayment program' is getting a high enough paying job where you can afford both cost of living and loan costs.  Obviously, pay them back as fast as possible...compounding interest is not fun.
