t42 is what i am looking at. has the 15" screen. that is why i am looking at it over the t41.

the t42 is what i was looking at too. 

however, once i configured it to include a 3 year warranty as well as the hard drive and memory offered by the multimedia bookstore dell, i was looking at a $3000+ computer and it wouldn't even have a complete warranty.

so, i've decided to buy the multimedia dell from the bc bookstore.  i think i'm going to place my order today

you can get the t42 w/ warranty in the 2300 range

As for the bc bookstore laptop...
The extended warranty (that you can buy in addition to the one that already comes with the bookstore laptop) does cover stuff that's your fault (eg, you spill beer in your computer). I haven't gotten a chance to play around on the computer much, but the screen is plenty big for me, and it has all the standard programs w/o too much extra crap.  The key board is a good size also.. slightly smaller than the laptop i used to have, but something that would take a very short time to get used to. It took about a week to be delivered.

ok... so im gonna get the bc multimedia laptop... but does it come with ms office? how about a carrying case?

no carrying case... i think it comes with ms office, but i don't remember for sure... i'd check, but  my laptop is in boston and i'm in ny

does not come with office you can get it from the bookstore though at a reduced rate... what made you decide to go with the dell eee? i think i am getting the t42. i'm going to order in a few minutes
