Scared
« on: May 27, 2004, 06:12:15 AM »
Hello I'm an undergrad who just finished 3rd year and am looking to go to law school.  I havent' taken the LSAT yet, and have a CGPA of 3.6 as of now. I'm wondering what my chances are of getting into a good law school? And since you're supposed to apply before 4th year is over, do they take your 4th year grades into account?

Any help will be much appreciated.
Oh and any advice on extracurricular and/or law school related activities that would help me would be great.  :)

Your GPA is good enough to get into a 1st tier school, but what matters most is your LSAT.  I would suggest buying a few books, I tried:

Kaplan 2 real LSAT's explained
Logic Games bible
10 real LSAT's

The reality is, your chances of getting into a school are dependent on:

50% LSAT
40% GPA
10% other

it helps if youre a minority too.  Hope this helps, and good luck.

Take a prep course if you have the money.  It will force you to study (hopefully).  I believe the breakdown between GPA/LSAT is actually 25%/75%.  But of course this depends on where you apply to.
