I do not live in the SD area and am wondering what advice anyone has for housing.  I think my wife and I will need a decent size 1 bedroom or a small 2 bedroom.  What do you think?  Best places to live balancing cost, neighborhood, distance/traffic, etc.

Any help would be awesome.  I live in NorCal (Bay Area) and can't afford to make to many trips down south to get set up.
