Study Aids??
« on: August 13, 2002, 09:33:50 AM »
Hi!

I'm going to be a IL from this fall - and wanted to ask those of you who have been through it about study aids.

Which ones were the most helpful?  Which would be a waste of time to get?  I don't want to go crazy and get everything, so any advice would be helpful.

Thanks!!

Xavier

aspen E&E series is always good - you can buy them in a variety of places either in campus bookstores or online.  if you want to get them online, there's a 10% discount at barristerbooks.com  - WCL7047  and you can get the first year pack for a discount as well.

Aspen Examples and Explantion books are good for Civil Procedure and Torts.  They are not very good for Criminal and Contracts.

In addition to Aspen E&E, I use Emanuel's for the black letter law.  I think they are the best for that.  The "crunchtime" black letter outlines are available from Lexis for download.  The alrger versions (with expanded explantions) must be purchased.

Frankly, I also recommend flash cards and law on tape/CD. It can get expensive though.
