Chi-Kent...why so slow?

Chi-Kent...why so slow?

It seems to me that they had an unusually high number of deferrals this year and are really slow on sending out decisions for regular admissions.  Anyone know if there's a story to this?  Are they playing a waiting game for a rankings move?

They were over-enrolled last year.  Some who were admitted last year took a package deal to defer themselves until this year, so some seats were already taken before adcom even looked at the first application.  Also, their popularity (yield) has increased.  In my opinion they seem to be taking their time, offering a lot of scholarship to 3.2, 3.3, 3.4+ index applicants.  All those deferrals and hardly any waitlisted . . . it is strange.  There will probably be alot of movement on the deferred app's in late April and May.

Anybody else have a better guess?
