No offense or anything, but taking a quick peak at your numbers (and not knowing if you've opened a refugee center or penned a pulitzer) and your denial (Texas I presume), I wouldn't say that your  rejection was "beneath you." Both your numbers are below their medians, which is a lot closer to auto-reject numbers than numbers which merit you saying that your rejection was "beneath you." That being said however, in the grand scheme of things, you do have good numbers, and have already gotten into a super-reach (Cornell) which is awesome for you. I would perhaps take a step back and take a more objective look at your situation, and perhaps exercise a little more humbleness.

Good luck with the rest of your apps.

First of all, I didn't say what school. There's no guarantee I listed everything on there. Second of all, I was not refering to my numbers which I'm well aware are medium. I was refering to the fact that I've already been accepted at Cornell, so I'm not really saddened by rejections from schools that aren't as good a personal fit for me. Check yo'self.

My NYU and UVa accpetances did take a bit of the sting out of Boalt's rejection.

disgruntled - wouldn't "humility" work better than "humbleness"?

This was supposed to be a fun thread! To make our bruised egos feel better! Like the "what do you do with your rejection letter" thread. Neither humbleness nor humility will make you feel better or make you laugh in this case.

With a 3.78 in your Masters, I dont think that you were being overly confindent.  I suppose that with a graduate degree, its a crapshoot which schools will dismiss you based on UG GPA alone and which will give your application proper consideration.  Keep in mind - residency matters a LOT to Those UT folks, so that was probably a big factor.  Congrats on Cornell!

I'm not in the same situation, but my acceptances did allow me to smirk at USC's hold.
