If this is a flame, I'm going to feel mighty stupid about answering this in a serious manner.

Romko: If you've ever seen a law school application (not too hard to find.  Go to pretty much any law school website and you can probably download one), you'll notice that virtually no school asks what your high school GPA was.  Does it matter?  Of course, if you want to get into a good undergraduate college.  Does it matter to law schools?  Not that I know of.

Basically law schools seem to look for hard and soft factors.  Hard factors include your undergraduate cumulative GPA and your LSAT score (120-180 with 150 being about 50th percentile, I believe).  Soft factors can be just about anything: college major, activities/clubs in college, volunteer activities, work experience (I put work experience starting at age 16 through the present since I'm going to law school straight out of undergrad), sports, languages (like your Ukranian!), etc.

As for taking specific courses, the best advice is to take courses that force you to think analytically (statistics, math, science, etc) and courses that require lots of writing (like research papers).  I've been told that undergraduate major doesn't particularly matter too much.  Pick something that interests you, and do well in it.

Of course, this is all stuff that you'll be thinking about and doing at least 4 more years from now.  The only thing I can say right now is keep your options open; sometimes peoples' interests change drastically after they've been exposed to a course they took during high school or college (that happened to me.  I went from being pre-med to choosing to declare one of my majors in Jewish Studies after taking a Hebrew class during my freshman year in college).  Explore lots of things, and most importantly, do things of interest to YOU.  Your interests are important, and who cares what law schools think?  Personally, I feel that most schools don't care what you're involved in (if it's legal!) as long as you're passionnate about it and can bring that out in your application materials.

So there you have it.  Until college, just study hard in high school, but don't forget to have some fun while you're there.
