I got an e-mail from UIUC about a Class of 2008/Alumni event in L.A. next week. Does this mean I'm in? I just barely sent in my app last month. They never sent me a complete notice. Is this just a generic mailing to all pended apps?

ETA: Woohoo! Just got the call two seconds ago from the admissions office. I was so flustered and I totally was rude to the lady, I feel so bad. Stuck at work so I had to keep the conversation short. But they offered me 10K/year. I am so excited! OMG, what will I do now?!

Are you from L.A. or S.F.? Because the events are only there so it might mean nothing. Also, even if they did admit me, that doesn't mean you didn't get in. They might still be reviewing your app! Best of luck!

I'd guess so.  It's no secret they are doing everything they can to raise their ranking by increasing their LSAT stats.

Yea, BC is in their own little world.  But yea, people who visited UIUC on LSD said they came right out and said they are throwing a ton of money at high LSATs and cutting their class size to 180.
