So what exactly is Georgetown doing?  I think this bothers me, because I actually sent them a letter of interest when I got the waiting list letter.  But it seems like that was just a big waste of time, considering they have tons of people on other sorts of priority lists.  I just feel like other candidates who are on the waiting list should know this.

There are three things going on here:

1- An acceptance for '06 along with a waitlist. Obviously for yield protection, because any of these people that express interest get accepted.

2- Preferred wait list

3- Regular waitlist

According to Montauk the Preferred waitlist has like 400 ppl on it and about 25-50 get admitted. The regular waitlist has like 200 and in the past 10-20 get admitted. But this year, who know with all the deadline extensions and '06 acceptances.
