Is everyone and their mother on the GW waitlist?

Is everyone and their mother on the GW waitlist?

It seems like GW handed out waitlist letters like candy this app cycle. Do they always do this? I am inquiring now because I'm trying to decide whether I should even consider getting in off the "unranked" waitlist as a possibility.

I think they just want to be cautious. They are one of the earliest seat deposits, so I imagine they are trying to gauge how many people from their admits they have and then they will go to the list soon. I would expect people to get off the list within the next month.  This is in contrast to say Columbia that guarantees they won't even consider anyone on their waitlist until June.

I was surprised to get the news of their WL yesterday. Ah well. I suppose I should send something letting them know of continued interest, even though I don't really have a lot of that... but not lacking enough to take myseld off just yet... (I would like to be in DC, but would rather gun for a spot off the GULC WL...)

Moni -- Yep, that's what they said in their wait list letter (that they weren't going to start reviewing waitlisted apps until April 15 when deposits were due).

RobinHood, but the real question is, is your MOTHER on the WL??? ;)

We have shockingly similar numbers; I'm a smidge lower than you with a 3.71/161. Who else are you waiting to hear from? (Although the Tulane scholarship sounds pretty tempting!)

'True dat...I'm waiting on Texas, SMU, UVA, GTOWN, and a couple of others...Plenty of reaches in there so Tulane's looking more and more likely...I'd love Austin though...Oh, and as for mom, she hasn't heard yet...

Not me.  As for mom, I got out the Ouija board and had a quick seance to see if her spirit was on the waiting list.  It's not.  Her rejection letter floated up to her last week.
