Boalt - Over the Phone

So I've been trying to schedule my law school visits, and I was pretty sick of waiting on Boalt (since I had been complete since November).  I decided today to take a stand and gave them a call to see what's up.  The nice lady said that a letter had been sent out at the beginning of March.  Of course, I never got the letter because my mail lady has the intelligence of a gnat.  Luckily, the nice admissions lady put an end to my Boalt dreams over the phone and told me I was not offered a position in this fall's class.  Oh well, I expected as much from Boalt, given that I have not saved any whales, gotten any grants, been a Rhodes or Fulbright scholar or really done anything worthy of a Nobel Prize.  So now it's down to UCLA, Vanderbilt or good old IU.  At least I'll be able to stop holding my breath every time I go to the mailbox or check my email.

I'm right there with you. But hey, at least you got UCLA. I would love an acceptance from there. Who knows, maybe if I get lucky we will be classmates next year.

Thanks.  It's funny...I thought I would be crushed if I didn't get into Boalt, but now that it's actually happened I don't really care.  I guess I sort of knew it was going to turn out like this all along.  I just wasn't meant to live in San Francisco.  Good luck with UCLA!

Funny, I had the same feeling about Boalt, almost like I was relieved that I didn't get in even though I had always wanted to go to school there.

I think the powers that be know that we really wouldn't fit in there.  I, for one at least, lack any sort of credientials that would establish me as a Nobel laureate.

No such luck here.  I applied in the first week of December...and when I called, they said my application was still under review.

LSAT definitely, but I think my GPA is a little on the low end for Boalt.  Oh well, who knows what goes through their crazy heads over there.

You don't want to be in Berkeley anyway. . . Congrats on UCLA. One of the attorneys I work with is a recent grad and raves about it continuously. She says that it's actually pretty laid back and the students study together a lot--surprised me!

True. We are just not Berkeley people. Besides, UCLA's better anyways. Well, it's not bad.
