Officially saw my letter today as it arrived while I was gone on vacation. Not that I had a good shot of getting in, but I thought I had a slight chance. Being my 2nd rejection I'm starting to get discouraged. I have 3 more schools and I just really hope I get into one more.

is ucla doing mass rejections like boalt, or are they just periodically sending them out to whoever when the decesion happens?

This is the first round of rejects I've heard of and it appeared to be a mass mailing.

I'm sure its a good thing. At the very least you've made it through the first round of rejections. I think I was an auto-reject, and I'm guessing you aren't. At least Boalt still has my app.

Haha, my mom prefaced the call about my rejection with, "Your dad and I were discussing this and we really don't want you going to such a tough school. We'd rather you relax in San Diego or somewhere lower ranked instead of competing with all these students that are much smarter and more competitive than you are . . ." Hehe I love them I am not surprised at all and only applied to appease my curiosity.
