There is actually a medical condition known as "alexia without agraphia," which is an inability to comprehend written material, but does not affect the ability to write. Therefore, people affected by this can write anything they want, but then they can't read it. The most common causes of this are stroke and head injury, and it's pretty rare. Interesting, though...
