Last year 10. No safety schools. Paid too much attention to USNWR rankings. Did not talk to lawyers much. Ill informed about process. Personal statement not unique and personal enough.

I applied to 12, mainly because my GPA and LSAT do not match nicely so I wanted to be safe

Applied to more than twelve.  What a waste.  I have choices, but am not happy with them.  I'll be reapplying next year if things don't work out with my final two waitlist choices.

I applied to 4 schools, 2 target (which I really wanted to get in to) and 2 reaches.  Thankfully, I got into my target schools, so I don't have to consider whether moving across the country would be the best option for me.

I originally planned on applying to 14 schools, but ended up applying to 11, partially because I saw people with higher #s getting rejected on LSN.  I wish I would have applied to those schools after all, since I've been waitlisted at other reach schools.  Oh well...

I applied to so many schools because although my numbers are pretty bad, I've got some great soft factors and LORs.  I really only had 2 safety schools.  Amazingly, only 1 school outright rejected me.  I'm okay with that though, because it was a local school and I really want to move out of downstate NY.
