I'm interested in the following specializations:

1. Intellectual Property Law (copyrights and trademarks)

2. Family & Juvenile Law-I have experience working with kids. I also have family mediation training.

3. Sports & Entertainment Law-because I love music and movies

4. Labor & Employment Law-I have experience working with unions and disenfranchised workers.

5. Real Estate & Estate Planning-I like reading contracts, but I would hate doing litigation! This specialty is also a part of Family & Sports and Entertainment.

6. Alternative Dispute Resolution-I have family mediation training, and I want to ultimately become an arbitrator.

7. Immigration Law-although it is a hard field to break into to get a job as I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am interested in alot of different areas of law..

Child Advocacy
Immigration
Human Rights
Career Clerkships

Honestly, that is just to name a few. UVA seems to have a good Child Advocacy clinic, don't know if I could get in there though due to stupidity in the past with undergraduate grades. But trending up now though, making mostly A's.Willam and Mary would be insane as well. But if I don't make either of those I can always go to Regent University.

I'd LOVE to puruse art law, with an international focus. Art law, not entertainment law, nothing wrong with that, just not what I'm interested in. I'm really interested in the legal issues concerning reclamation, that is where native countries are up in museum's grills asking to have pieces of art, relics, etc returned to them, very general definition. But I was an art history and international relations major in college and I would love to put both of my interests to work in my legal career!

does anyone know

for immigration, when the clients are in another country, can you only represent them if they move to your state?

for example, if you lived in florida, and you had someone from Europe say they wanted to move to cali, could you take the client?

Well, I'm currently prepping for the LSAT, so here's assuming I get accepted somewhere this coming cycle!

Anyway, if I end up practicing law right out of school (I'm actually interested in working for the FBI, but that's not guaranteed), there are a bunch of things I think I'd be interested in doing:  IP (copyright/trademark), international, tax, antitrust, murders & decapitations--er...you know what I mean (j/k).  I'm not too concerned about that right now.  I'm just focusing on the LSAT right now!
